Ayla Tavares
b. 1990, Brazil
Ayla Tavares builds her artistic production in dialogue with archaeological practices, addressing questions about the various ways of inhabiting the world. Her works explore temporal layers such as memory, everyday life and projection, through investigations into archaeological artefacts, architecture and everyday objects. By straining poetic and analytical methods in the way we think about documents and representations, Ayla reveals chimaeras - speculative bodies that provoke strangeness and fabulation.
